Effective December 3, 2024, there is a significant change in the departure process for Filipino au pairs coming to Europe. All au pairs are now required to register and participate in the Country Familiarization Seminar (CFS) before leaving the country.
These mandatory seminars are physically conducted at different locations of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO). At the headquarters in Quezon City, the seminars take place every Tuesday. The other CFO offices in Baguio, Cebu and Davao hold the seminars on Fridays. All sessions last from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
For successful registration, au pairs should bring the following documents:
- A printed barcode of the CFO appointment
- An original valid passport
- An original valid Au Pair Program Visa or Residence Permit
- A legalized au pair contract (by the Philippine embassy/consulate in the destination country)
- Valid health insurance for the entire length of stay
- An overview of seven cultural activities, prepared together with the host family
- A valid photo ID
In addition, a documentation stamp tax (DST) of Php 30.00 must be paid.
Au pairs can use the following links to make an appointment for their seminar:
- Manila: https://vcloud.cfo.gov.ph/CFSMla/
- Cebu: https://vcloud.cfo.gov.ph/CFSCbu/
- Davao: https://vcloud.cfo.gov.ph/CFSDvo/
- Baguio: https://vcloud.cfo.gov.ph/CFSBag/
For au pairs coming through our au pair agency, we will coordinate this process with our agent in the Philippines. For au pairs who have found their own host family (self-match), we will inform them so that they can go through the process correctly themselves.
Do you have any questions about this new procedure? If so, please feel free to contact us.
Best regards, The SNAPS Team
