My name is Tongamary Tema, but please feel free to call me with my first name Tema. I am excited to Introduce myself as a potential au pair for your family. I am 20years old from the incredible island of Madagascar. I come from a loving family of my parents, my two sisters and even though I don’t live with them right now, we stay very close, often getting together on Sundays for a big family lunch or calling each other throughout the week. I currently live with my cousin and her daughter in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, a vibrant city where I am pursuing my studies. Living away from my immediate family has been a great lesson in independence, teaching me to manage my time and budget efficiently, which I believe is essential for an au pair. Regarding my education, I graduated from high school in 2023 with my baccalaureate diploma. Since then, I studied communication with a distance-learning system, which allows me to undertake different activities at the same time. So, I have taken some professional courses, including computer training and English classes. I have also completed an internship with an NGO called Manda, which focuses on helping street children. During my internship, I helped children with their homework, played with them during breaks, assisted with their personal documents by working on the field, supporting different activities and helping the organization in its daily programs. A part of my role was working with groups of children after school. For instance, I remember helping one child who was struggling to focus on his homework and by using a simple game to make the learning more fun, he was able to complete the task with confidence. This experience reinforced my belief that patience and creativity are best tools for supporting children. I would love to become an au pair because I truly enjoy spending time with children. I like helping them, learn new thing, play games and explore their creativity. My primary childcare experience comes from taking care of my 6year-old cousin, Vaniah. She has a bright, curious personality and loves to spend her afternoons creating elaborate stories. My routine with her usually involves picking her up from school, helping her with her homework, and then letting her creativity shine by building forts or acting out scenes from her favorite books. It is incredible rewarding to watch her learn and grow. My main reason for becoming an au pair is to discover a new culture while sharing good moments together, improve my English and gain more life experience. I also see this is a great opportunity to share my own culture and learn from yours. After my au pair experience, I plan to continue university in communication and cultural Studies. I know that this program will help me grow more mature and Independent in the future. I chose the Netherlands because I am very interested in its diverse culture and traditions. I would especially love to experience important celebrations and learn more about everyday family life in Netherlands. I think living with a host family is the best way to really experience it and it will not only help me improve my English but also give me a deeper understanding of communication and culture exchange, which will be valuable for my future studies. You should choose me as your au pair because I am naturally caring, adaptable and responsible, a trait that was strengthened by my time at Manda and living independently. I have a genuine love for children and enjoy helping them grow and discover the world. I am also open to new cultures and excited to share my own while learning from yours and apart from that I will always be happy to assist with light household tasks that are directly related to the children’s needs and maintenance, such as preparing simple meals, doing their laundry, or tidying up their play areas. I understand the importance of being a reliable and helpful member of the household team. I enjoy a variety of activities in my free time. Dancing is a wonderful way for me to relax and express myself, and I look forward to learning about local music and dances. I also love team sports like basketball and volleyball because they taught me the importance of communication, relying on others, and keeping a positive attitude even when a challenge seems tough. I also love simply listen to music and read to wind down at the end of a day. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my letter and consider my application. I would be honored to join your family and help create a safe, happy, and supportive environment for your children. I look forward to meeting you and sharing wonderful moments together Warm regards, Tema
