My name is Joyce Thuo, and I am 24 years old. I come from Nairobi, Kenya. I am a college graduate from Thika Institute of Business Studies, where I completed a cosmetology course. I describe myself as attentive, calm, curious, and responsible. I come from a sweet, supportive, loving, and open-minded family. I grew up in a healthy environment, which helped me become the person I am today. My family consists of my mother, two older sisters, and me. They are very supportive, and I always look up to them for advice. My mother owns a small restaurant in the city, and my sisters are married. I have developed a lot of skills through looking after children, such as a sense of responsibility and multitasking. I have experience with children because I worked as a babysitter for two years. I looked after a small baby and also care for my nephews whenever their parents aren't home. I am confident that I will be able to take care of your children because I can bathe, dress, feed them with both a bottle and spoon, change diapers, and help with homework. I found out about the au pair program from TikTok, researched it further on Google, and became intrigued. I would like to become an au pair because it gives me the opportunity to travel abroad, work with children, and learn a new language while experiencing a new culture. I have always wanted to travel abroad, meet people with different beliefs, learn new languages, and be part of a different culture. I am hoping to visit different cities around Europe, and through this program, I'll get the chance to. After my au pair year, I'll return home to pursue my dream career in nursing.
