My name is Rae, I’m 19 years old, and I’m from Indonesia. I graduated in Culinary Arts, and I have a particular interest in pastry, baking, and exploring food from different cultures. I would describe myself as caring, responsible, curious, and creative. I enjoy learning new things, listening to music, writing poetry, hiking, and discovering different cultures and languages. I also love spending time with children and finding little ways to make their days more fun and meaningful.I grew up in a family where caring for one another and helping each other are important parts of everyday life. Being part of a family has taught me that patience, respect, and understanding matter, especially when living with people who have different personalities. I believe a home should be a place where people feel comfortable being themselves, communicate openly, and learn from one another. My childcare experience comes from looking after younger family members and caring for children in a kindergarten environment, with approximately 2,000 hours of experience cuz i’ve done it since 10th grade. I have helped with feeding, hygiene, daily routines, and playtime, and I have also cared for babies from a very young age. These experiences have taught me that every child has their own personality, needs, and way of expressing themselves. I’ve learned to be patient when a child is upset, attentive to their needs, and flexible when things don’t go according to plan. I understand that taking care of children is not only about keeping them safe, but also about helping them feel heard, encouraging their curiosity, and supporting their development. I want to become an au pair because I’d love to experience what it’s like to live in another country while being part of a family’s everyday life. I’m excited about learning a new language, understanding different parenting styles, and sharing my own culture with my host family. Since I studied culinary arts, I’d especially enjoy introducing the children to simple cooking and baking activities, preparing Indonesian food for the family, or learning some of your favourite family recipes together. I think these everyday moments are a lovely way to get to know one another. In the future, I hope to continue my au pair journey in another European country, especially France or Belgium, before focusing more seriously on building my career in pastry and baking. I want to gain more life experience, become more independent, and learn from the people and places I encounter along the way. I see being an au pair as an important step in that journey, both personally and professionally. What I hope to find in a host family is a genuine connection built on trust, kindness, and mutual respect. I’d love to feel included in your family life, share stories over meals, celebrate little moments together, and create happy memories with the children. I understand that becoming part of a new household requires adjustment, and I’m willing to listen, learn, and adapt to your routines. I don’t expect everything to be perfect. I simply hope we can communicate openly, support one another, and make this experience meaningful for everyone. I’m really looking forward to meeting a family with whom I can share this experience, learn from each other, and grow together. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I hope I’ll have the opportunity to get to know you and become a caring, reliable, and happy part of your family. Warm wishes, Rae
